emergent spaces is an artist-led curatorial project that centers queer and trans feminist perspectives within the diaspora. Initiated in 2023 as a response to earthquake relief efforts in Turkey, Kurdistan, and Syria, the project is rooted in political education, solidarity, and collective artistic practices. It seeks to build cross-community and inter-solidarity connections through collaborative work.
From 2023 to 2025, the project featured the artistic and curatorial contributions of Ceren Saner and Serena Abbondanza. Currently, under the direction of Elvan Tekin, emergent spaces continue to evolve, focusing on research and interdisciplinary modes of collaboration.
